Envicas ADR safety advisor

ADR

Envicas can assist you as an external ADR Safety Advisor.

All parties subject to the legislation must appoint an ADR safety advisor whose role is to ensure that his clients are properly informed about their rights and obligations.

ADR is the European treaty dealing with the international carriage of hazardous goods by road.

The relevant Member States have translated this treaty into their national legislation, so that it also applies to national transport. These regulations primarily consist of uniform instructions relating to:

  1. the training of drivers of vehicles carrying hazardous goods as well as the training of persons in those companies directly involved in loading and unloading activities involving such goods;
  2. product classification;
  3. packaging requirements;
  4. labelling requirements;
  5. the on-board documentation required to accompany ADR loads;
  6. the vehicle's equipment;
  7. the personal protective equipment provided for the driver and driver's mate accompanying the load;
  8. driving behaviour, specific traffic regulations and methods of loading and unloading;
  9. possible disapplications for specified products;
  10. safety instructions.

From 1/1/2000 onwards, businesses which load, transport or unload hazardous goods must appoint an ADR Safety Advisor. The ADR Safety Advisor must have completed a specialised training course and have passed the associated examinations. This function may be exercised by:

  • a Director of the business or a Business Manager;
  • a member of the company's staff;
  • an external individual who meets the qualifications and with whom a written agreement has been made for the delivery of these services. Envicas bvba are able to provide the services of an ADR Safety Advisor in this latter capacity.
